Artwork by Frank

My dentist is so multi-talented.  First off…  He is my dentist, and an excellent one at that.  (Just take a look at how good my teeth look.) Second…  He is the lead guitarist for the band Ante M.  Today I found out about his artistic talents.  I’m sure he labored for hours putting this work of art together.   Did I mention his comedic talents?  ”Well… Nobody is good at everything.”

Most people do not like going to see the dentist.  It’s just the opposite for me.  I have so much fun when I go.  Not only am I the recipient of worthless priceless pieces of art like this, the hygienist (Lindsay) did a “song & dance” for me.  (She did owe me, but I thought she’d weasel out of it.  It was awesome!)

It’s not only me that thinks they’re the best.  On their fireplace mantle are cards, testimonials, pictures, etc. items given to them by their patients.  Obviously, all their patients think they’re great! If you’re looking for a dentist I highly recommend Mitchell Family Dental in St. Clair Shores.

Fantasy Football League Opening

The OFFL is a fantasy football league I’ve run for the past 6 years. (We are entering year 7)  It is a 12-team, re-draft league that is run on MFL.  We are not a big money league.  The entry fee is just $35, which all goes for prizes and league hosting fees.  Draft day is Sunday August 29th at 5:00pm EST.    For payouts and complete league rules  just click here.

If you’re interested in becoming an owner please contact me using the site Contact Us Form.  (From the pull down menu, choose “Fantasy Football – OFFL” as the subject.)

EDIT – Opening has been filled

Champps $10 Off Coupon

chammps_couponHad lunch at Champps  yesterday with my buddy Keith.  This $10 off coupon made for an inexpensive meal.  It’s good until August 30th, so just download and print it.  (in IE you can just print the picture of the coupon by right-clicking and choosing “Print Picture”)

Gratiot Cruise

Yesterday was the annual Gratiot Cruise.  Carol, our friend Audrey, and I went for a few hours.  It was great weather for the event.  We watched the cars at Printing by Johnson, a printing business owned by our friends Jim & Jill.  They put on quite an event for their clients…  tents, food and drinks, massages.  There were alot of people there.  Sometimes the cruisers will pull into the parking lot and you can check out their cars.  (or whatever it is they’re driving)  We had a great time.

Oh yeah!  The cruise itself was nifty.  There are a lot of old, and different, cars to see.

Oh Happy Day!

After announcing over a month ago that the NFL Network would be carried on their basic package, Comcast finally is showing the channel.   They said they would be carrying it by August 1st, and they are.  (albeit, only 2 days before August 1st)  Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be watching my favorite channel – FINALLY!  If the NFL and Comcast agreed on a deal a month ago to show NFL Network on Comcast, why did it take over a month for me to finally see it?

Public Enemies

My “Summer of Movies” continues.  Yesterday, my buddy Earl and I went to see Public Enemies.  The movie was about the gangster John Dillinger, but had a small part about Baby Face Nelson and a scene with Pretty Boy Floyd.  It wasn’t a bad movie.  I thought it was a bit too “Hollywood”.  It was a movie though.  If I wanted more of a real-life documentary I guess I should’ve stayed home and watched the History Channel.

Busy, Busy, Busy

It feels like Carol and I have been on the go since Thursday.  We’ve had something going on every night.

  • Thursday – We went to see Ante M.  They were playing at Tin Fish, at Partridge Creek.
  • Friday – Met Danielle and PJ at the Polish Festival.  (They were in from Boston for the wedding.)
  • Saturday – The wedding.
  • Sunday – We saw Tom Jones at Freedom Hill.

We’ll be in bed tonight by 9.  Guaranteed!

Saturday Night

This past Saturday Carol and I attended a wedding. It was a ton of fun.  I think Carol had an extra good time because alot of people were there from her time BT (Before Tracy), and they were all in one place. We spent most of the evening with a couple of Carol’s “Cruise Sisters”, Mercy and Sandy. What a couple of fun girls! We both had a great time, but I think it was the most fun Carol had had in awhile. That makes me happy. If anybody deserves to have some fun, it’s Carol.

…and the wedding itself was pretty nice. Both the wedding and the reception were held at Pine Knob Mansion. Everyone looked great, the bride was beautiful, the scenery was awesome…

Congratulations Bruce and Lindsay!

Ante M At Partridge Creek

They’re playing tonight at the Tin Fish restaurant/bar, at Partridge Creek Mall. The band goes on at 9:00. It’s not 100% that we’re going up to see them, but we’ll probably end up going since it’s so close to home and they don’t start real late. I’ll tell you what I won’t be doing tonight if we go up there. I won’t be ordering a Jack and Coke. Here’s how it was the last time we were at Tin Fish…

A glass full of ice filled with Coke, and a splash of Jack Daniels = $6

It was almost like drinking a glass of pop in about 3 gulps!
